"An FDA safety review has shown that fluoroquinolones when used systemically (i.e. tablets, capsules, and injectable) are associated with disabling and potentially permanent serious side effects that can occur together. These side effects can involve the tendons, muscles, joints, nerves, and central nervous system.", FDA, 2016. However, many physicians are still prescribing these antibiotics for simple sinus infections, respiratory infections and UTI's. Should you find you are having an adverse reaction, you should always try to call poison control or your prescribing physician for their instructions. Should you find yourself alone in seeking remedies, this site was created to help you.

This site is intended to help anyone who is experiencing side effects after taking a fluoroquinolone such as Cipro, Ciprofloxacin, Avelox, Moxifloxacin, Gemifloxacin, Factive, Levofloxacin, Levaquin, Norfloxacin, Noroxin, Ofloxacin, Floxin.

 Is It An Emergency?

Depending on your reaction, you may need to go to the emergency room. Some people have had throat closure, hallucinations or been blinded. Go To The ER!! On your way there, have someone go into a pharmacy or grocery store and buy a Magnesium Supplement and take it right away. (Be certain to make sure magnesium will not interfere with other medications.) This will stop the absorption of the fluoroquinolone. Bring the prescription package insert. If you do not have the package insert, here are some links:
Cipro still working on the rest of the links....

Don't forget to call the prescribing physician to report your adverse reaction.
